Re-app part 3
Player Name: Kate.
Character's Name: Marie
Character's username
tidalwaves
Game Series: Pokémon.
Link to previous app: First app. Re-app. Canon update. Re-app part 2.
Age (If there is a change): 19.
Additional history that happened since the last application:
Considering that I did very little between the most recent re-app [12/02/13] & drop [01/29/14], there isn't much to add to his history at the school before he left again. Really, the only thing that happened was this; Vinnie told Marie that he was dating Bulba. For a month following that, Marie kept mostly to himself. And then, because it was easy to, he split. Very likely without saying anything to anyone.
Where has Marie been for the past 4 months? Primarily, he's been at Red's mom's house. Mostly spending his time trying to stay out of her way, occasionally curled up with the Espeon. He continued his effort to forget that Vinnie ever existed. He wrinkled his nose any time he though of Voile, too, so he worked on forgetting her as well. If they weren't a part of his family, they weren't worth remembering. He busied himself with chores sometimes, in an effort to keep his mind off them. Washing dishes, watering Red's mom's garden, and whatever else he could help her with.
He missed his trainer, but kept in-touch through text messages. The rest of the team was marginally less lucky in recieving reponses Marie, save for the occasional reply just to reassure them he was still there.
A few months into Marie's pity-party, Sasha visited. She stayed for maybe a day or two, then convinced Marie to join her on a trip to Pokémon Island. They camped on the beach, hung out near volcanoes, and talked a lot. About a lot of different things. As their trip came to a close, Marie decided to return to Smash Academy. He at least owed it to Sonny and Red to be around again. Maybe Voile and Vinnie a little bit. Maybe. Sasha took off for the Fire Dojo again, but with the promise that she'd meet him back at school not long after.
Personality Changes:
Certain things about Marie's personality will always remain consistent. He is timid and anxious, he's prone to bitterness and grudges, and he is incredibly emotional and weepy. This is still entirely true.
A lot of his anger and hatred (of which he has plenty) had been directed towards Vinnie in recent months. The petty routine of resolving to forget the Venusaur he called his brother was a pointless effort. He knew that before he left the school, he knew it the entire time he continued to try at his mom's house. Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea to say it was dumb out loud, though. He might not be ready to forgive the person he called his brother for leaving just yet, but he's willing to see if it doesn't make him blind with rage to see his face again.
With all that in mind; following his trip with Sasha, Marie is making a conscious effort to be a little more relaxed. Not let things under his skin so easily. That's not to say he's going to suddenly be calm and collected. Rather, he's beginning to recognize his self-destructive patterns and that maybe there's a better way to deal with his problems. But while recognizing that he has a problem is nice and everything, he's yet to figure out a concrete solution beyond "I gotta calm down." Whoops.
He's 19. That's not-a-teen in only a year. And although Wartortles practically live forever, he has to stop acting like a child at some point.
